Beverly Dukes

Beverly Berry Dukes, age 84, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2017 in Jackson, MS.
Beverly was born in Van, TX on December 18, 1932.  She spent her early years in Houston and later moved to Mississippi to attend Blue Mountain College, a school that was founded by her ancestors.  She also attended Mississippi College where she was involved in many activities.  One of her fondest memories was being invited to participate in a “Campus Beauty” feature where she was photographed at the governor’s mansion.
After college, Beverly made her home in Jackson, MS, where she married and raised her four children.  She later worked at Suntech Student Loans until she retired.
Survivors include her children:  James T Dukes, Jr., Jackson, MS; Karen Bowers, Greenville, MS; Lisa Dukes, Marietta, GA; Dr. Charles Dukes, Edmond, OK.  Other survivors are two grandsons, Josh Bowers and Gabriel Dukes along with her beloved cat, Serena.  She is preceded in death by her parents Dr. and Mrs. Charles R Berry and her brother, Charles R. Berry, Jr.
Arrangements for the memorial service will be made at a later date and are being handled by Ott and Lee Funeral Home, Brandon, MS.
