Beverly Jean Hester

Beverly Jean Hester, 84, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2018. Visitation is 10 am Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Services are 12 noon Thursday at the funeral home with burial in Crestview Memorial Park.  Rev. John Brashier will officiate.

Mrs. Hester was an active member of Park Place Baptist Church in Pearl.  A quote from her daughter Kathy states, “Mom was the most compassionate, loving, caring person I’ve ever known. She started teaching Sunday School at age 15. Her family was the love of her life and she worshiped her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.  She loved animals, flowers, change in seasons and all of God’s beauty. She will be missed but will be in our hearts forever.  I want to thank Kare-In-Home for their help and love for mom’s transition.”

Survivors include her daughter, Kathy DeKay (Harold) of Terry; sons, Steven Hester (Marla) of Springfield, Illinois and Mark Hester (Debbie) of Crete, Illinois; brother, John Ault (Linda) ofCrown Point, Indiana;  grandchildren, Graham DeKay (Nicole), Jessica Hester, Nicole Hester, Aubrey Hester and Wyatt Hester; great-grandchildren, Liam and Mia DeKay; aunt, Madelyn Storkman of Robinson, Illinois. Mrs. Hester was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Gerald Hester in 2018.
