William May (Bill) Benton, Jr., 76, passed away October 27, 2012 at the Brandon Court Nursing Home. Visitation will be held from 10:00am until 11:00am Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services will be at 11:00am Wednesday in the Chapel of Ott & Lee Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Brandon Memorial Gardens. Bill was born March 12, 1936 in Kosciusko, MS. He graduated from Brandon High School in 1954. He was president of his senior class and the center for the football team. He was in the car business for most of his life. He worked for GMAC, Thad Ryan Cadillac and the Mississippi Auto Auction in Hattiesburg. Upon retiring, he worked with his son, Casey, in the used car business. During a break from the car business he was a business partner of Roller Express Skating Center. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and was a great cook. He was a bit of a Bible scholar and had a soft spot in his heart for those in need. He is survived by Ruth Root Benton and their three children: William Patrick Benton, Kelly Benton Cranford and husband, Michael, and John Casey Benton and wife, Patti. Also surviving him are his three grandchildren, Benton Cranford and wife, Maeghan, Carlee Benton, and Garret Benton; several cousins and in-laws. The family wishes to thank the staff at Brandon Court Nursing Home, Dr. Albert and his nurse, Karen, and Pax Hospice for their care and compassion.
