Billie Faye Pettus, 78, passed away Wed. May 7, 2014 at Baptist Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Visitation will be held from 5pm-8pm Friday May 9, 2014 and Saturday May 10, 2014 starting at 9am at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral services will be held at 11am Sat. May 10, 2014 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS with graveside services to follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS.

Billie, affectionately known as Big Moma to her family and friends, was a lifelong resident of Rankin County. She was born in the Cato community to Bill and Faye Dotson on September 2, 1935. She married Larry Pettus of Holmes County on October 31, 1963. Billie and her family have owned and operated Larry’s Auto Sales in Pearl for over 42 years. She is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Larry Pettus of Brandon. Billie is further survived by her children and their respective families; Eva Harris of Johns, Larry Wayne Dotson of Johns, Jan Thornton of Flowood, Robby Pettus of Jackson and Greg Pettus of Flowood. She is also survived by brothers James Dotson of Johns, Robert Lee Dotson of Cato and Danny Joe Dotson of Birmingham. Billie was a longtime member of ChristWay Church in Flowood.

The family would like to express sincere thanks to Billie’s special friend and caregiver, Peggy Greenwood of Canton. Also, special thanks to Dr. Joyce Wade, Dr. John Pieklik and the nurses and staff of Baptist Medical Center for their loving care.
