Mr. Billy George Carter, 79, passed away Sun. Feb. 23, 2014 at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held Mon. Feb. 24, 2014 from 5pm-8pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS and from 10am-11am on Tues. Feb. 25, 2014 at the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Sandhill, MS. Funeral Services are 11am Tues. Feb. 25 at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Carter was a lifelong resident of Sandhill, MS where he was a member and a deacon of the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. He was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi and was also a charter member of the Pisgah Lions Club and a member of Farm Bureau.
Mr. Carter is survived by his wife, Janelle Carter; two daughters, Sherri Hollingsworth (Freeman) and Sandra Hunter (Barry); sister, Margaret Shedd; brother, Franklin Carter (Gloria); two grandchildren, Torrey Hollingsworth (Catina) and Tiffany Best (Taylor) and five great grandchildren, Reagan Hollingsworth, Bella Hollingsworth, Brynleigh Hollingsworth, Audrey Best, Adelyn Best and Carter Best due in June. Mr. Carter is preceded in death by his parents, George & Merle Carter.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church at 251 Old Hwy. 43 Brandon, MS 39047.
