Billy Joe McDaniel, 58, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2012 at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel. Services are 2 pm Monday, May 21, 2012 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Forest with burial in Homewood Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Doyle Boyles will officiate.
Billy Joe was a lifelong resident of the Homewood Community in Scott County. He worked as a machinist for several years for Elvie Crimm. Billy Joe was an avid fisherman and loved mud riding.
Billy Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Haywood and Beatrice McDaniel and sister, Linda Neese.
Survivors include his daughters, Amanda Maddox (Brad) of Mendenhall, Amy McDaniel of Homewood; granddaughter, Carson Maddox of Mendenhall; brothers and sisters, Bobby McDaniel (Kathy) of Homewood, Alline Threet (Luther) of Greenville, Bessie Tharp (Sammie) of Jackson, Jimmy McDaniel (Johnnie) of Harperville, Don McDaniel (Peggy) of Harperville, Keith McDaniel (Sarah) of Homewood, Sherry McDaniel of Cleveland, Teresa McInnis (Wiley) of Brandon, Marcus McDaniel of Forest ,Terry McDaniel of Harperville and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Dean McDaniel, Jerry McDaniel, Corey Harrison, Seth McDaniel, Bret McDaniel and Sean McDaniel. Tommy Lofton will serve as honorary pallbearer.
