Billy Morrow

April 24, 1931 — June 25, 2017

Billy Jean Morrow, 86, a resident of Pearl, MS passed away Sunday, June 25, 2017 at the VA Nursing Home in Jackson, MS. Funeral services will be held 2 pm Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS with interment in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS. Visitation will be held from 12-2 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS.

Mr. Morrow was a native of Neshoba County. He was the son of Almon and Nonnie Jones Morrow. He was married to Carolyn G. Morrow. Mr. Morrow was a member of First Baptist in Pearl, MS. He worked for Borden Milk Company 29 years before retiring. Then spent another 12 years working in the Maintenance Dept. at the MS State Hospital. The job he truly loved the most was taking his grandchildren and great grandchildren to and from school and stopping every day at the store to let them get snacks.  He was known as “Gramps” to many and treated everyone just like this own family.

Mr. Morrow was preceded in death by his parents Almon and Nonnie Jones Morrow. And an infant son Timothy Jean Morrow.

Survivors include: His wife Carolyn G. Morrow. Daughters Aliese Green and Amanda Lyle (David) of Pearl. Grandson Jarrett Lyle (Sarah Beth). Granddaughters Hope Green Gressett (Mark), Hannah Sunderman, and Casey Nelms (Joey). Great Grandchildren include Belle and Brayden Clark, Caleb and Josh Gressett, Christopher Lyston, and Audrey McEachern. Brothers Lonnie Morrow of Pascagoula, MS,  Wilbern Morrow of Raymond, MS, and Kenneth Morrow of Dixon, MS.  And one sister Patsy Davis of Philadelphia, MS.

Memorials may be made to the Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital at 2500 North State Street, Jackson, MS 39202.
