Billy Glenn Palmertree Sr., 89, passed away on Mon. April 7, 2025 at at his home in Brandon, MS surrounded by his loved ones. Visitation will be held on Wed. April 9, 2025 from 5pm-7pm and on Thurs. April 10, 2025 from 1pm-2pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 2pm on Thurs. April 10, 2025 at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Brandon, MS with burial to follow in the Lakeland Place Memorial Park Cemetery in Brandon, MS.

Mr. Palmertree was born on Jan. 11, 1936 in Greenwood, MS to the late Percy Palmertree and Fannie Brown Palmertree. Mr. Palmertree honorably served his country for 34 years with the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army. During his time in the U.S. Air Force he served during the Korean War. Mr. Palmertree graduated from the Law Enforcement Officers Training Academy in Jackson, MS and also from the LSU Law Enforcement Institute in Baton Rouge, LA. He was a former Chief of Police in Leland, MS and a Narcotics Agent.

Mr. Palmertree was a Certified Flight Instructor. He completed his first solo flight at the age of 16. Mr. Palmertree loved everything that involved Aviation especially flying Jets and Helicopters. He retired in 1998 as a helicopter mechanic at Hawkins Field. Mr. Palmertree enjoyed playing fast pitch softball, camping and going on cruises. He was a member of Meadow Grove Baptist Church and was also a Shriner. Mr. Palmertree loved and was devoted to Jesus, his family and his country.

He is survived by the love of his life of 45 years, Barbara Palmertree. He was a loving father to his children, Holly Burns (Joey), Ginger Foster, Billy Palmertree Jr. and Benton Glen Palmertree (Amie). He cherished his grandchildren, Erin Elizabeth Palmertree, Sawyer James Burns, Jeffrey Palmertree, Brandon Foster, Michael Foster, Kris Palmertree and his sister, Rose LaBouve. Mr. Palmertree is also preceded in death by his brother, Percy Palmertree Jr. and a sister, Irene Beach.
