Billy Wayne Porter was born December 2, 1934 to his parents, Carl and Donnie Brown Porter, who preceded him in death. He passed away August 17, 2020 at his residence at Coal Bluff at the age of 85.

Known as “Uncle Bill” by many, Mr. Porter, was a longtime resident of Morton, who enjoyed visiting friends, riding the countryside and fishing. He was a retired service man for the air conditioning and heating industry. He served in the United States Army and was a Christian by faith and attended McDonald Baptist Church.

He is survived by three children: Stacy Chandler, Don (Lori) Porter, and Carlos (Jamie) Porter; five grandchildren: Candace McGaugh, Amber Jelen, Katelyn Wood, Carl Porter and Nick Porter; five great-grandchildren: three siblings: Elaine (James) Cockrell, Michael (Carolyn) Tripp, and Ben (Diane) Tripp; a number of nieces and nephews;

Funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at the McDonald Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the McDonald Cemetery with military honors under the direction of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am – 1:45 pm on Thursday at the church.
