Billy Scarberry

October 14, 1949 — June 29, 2017

Mr. Billy Glen Scarberry, age 67, a resident of Leesburg passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.  His visitation was held 5pm-8pm Friday, June 30, 2017 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.  Funeral services were held 2pm Saturday, July 1, 2017 from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with Bro. David Bryant and Bro. Joe Crane officiating the services.  Burial was in Leesburg Baptist Cemetery.  Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.


Mr. Scarberry was born in Duckhill, MS on October 14, 1949.  He was a truck driver for many years and he also enjoyed watching old westerns on tv.   He was an avid football fan and his favorite teams to cheer for were Mississippi State Bulldogs and the New Orleans Saints.  Billy was also known for his warm and generous heart.  His grandbabies was the apple of his eye and he will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.


He is preceeded in death by his parents, Joseph Allen Scarberry and Frances Lorene Haynes Scarberry; brother, Robert Allen Scarberry.


He is survived by his wife, Brenda Martin Scarberry of Leesburg; son, Steven Scarberry (Kelly) of Leesburg; 3 sisters, Frances Louise Moore of Sardis, Brenda Joyce Orsbon of Grenada and Alice Faye Tucker (Joe) of Morton; 2 brothers, Floyd Scarberry (Pat) of Pelahatchie and Lee Roy Scarberry of Kentucky; 2 grandchildren, Matthew Scarberry and Emily Scarberry; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.


Pallbearers were Brian Martin, Ethan Martin, Floyd Emrick, Chuck Moore, Darin Thompson and Kevin Denson.


Memorials may be made in his name to the Wounded Warrier or Vietnam Memorial.
