Billy Sumrall

Billy Wayne Sumrall, 68, a resident of Greenville, MS passed away Monday, December 11, 2017. A memorial service will be held 1 pm Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Visitation will be held from 12-1 pm Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Sumrall was a native of Leland, MS. He was the son of Lindsey and Estelle Moore Sumrall. He worked in distribution for 25 years. He was Baptist by faith. Mr. Sumrall was a very talented basketball player for Greenville High School and he received the Mississippi Sports Writers Association Award in 1967. He had two sons with Pam Sumrall whom he loved very dearly, she preceded him in death.

Mr. Sumrall loved his family very much and spending time with them brought great joy to his life. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.

Mr. Sumrall was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Auston, Joe and Harry and his sister, Lillie Collins.

Mr. Sumrall is survived by his sons, William Wade (Loretta) Sumrall and Michael Shane (Lori) Sumrall; sisters, Nell Doughty, Margarita Niewald, Dorothy Ginn and Mavis Alexander; five grandchildren, William Tyler Sumrall, Michael Alexander Sumrall, Austin Reid Sumrall, Dylan Wade Sumrall and Madison Hunter Sumrall; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
