Billy Joe Maddox, 78, a resident of Pelahatchie, MS passed away Monday, May 23, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm Monday, May 30, 2016 at Crossroads Baptist Church in Pelahatchie, MS. Visitation will be held 1 pm until 2 pm at the church. Rev. John Vaughn and Rev. Phil Evans will officiate the services. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS.
Mr. Maddox was a native of Neshoba County, MS. He was the son of the late Thomas Edward and Luna Mae King Maddox. He was married to Pat Sexton Maddox. He was a truck driver for 30 years working for Ryder PIE Trucking. He proudly served in the United States Army. He was a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church in Pelahatchie, MS. He loved his family very much and spending time with them brought great joy to his life. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
Mr. Maddox was preceded in death by his son, Joey; parents, Thomas Edward and Luna Mae King Maddox and his sister, Evelyn Hatley.
Mr. Maddox is survived by his wife of 55 years, Pat Maddox; his children, Sandy (Mitch) Tagert, Cynthia (Dusty) Graham, Shane (Theresa) Maddox and Chris (Tisha) Maddox; sisters, Charlotte Riley and Rosan Graver; brother, Edward (Shirley) Maddox; grandchildren, Dustin Cody Graham, Marley Maddox, Johnathan “John Boy” Maddox, Brandie (Jeremiah) Johnson, Quin (Victoria) Allen, Mitchell Tagert, Heyleigh Tagert and Brandon Harrell; five great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
