Billy Junior Brown

Mr. Billy Brown, age 71, a resident of Holly Springs, MS but formerly of Morton passed away on Friday, September 18, 2020.  His visitation will be held 12:30pm-2:15pm Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.  Services will be held at 2:30pm Tuesday, September 22, 2020 from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial in Ludlow Cemetery.  Bro. Gary Wyatt will officiate the services.  Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Mr. Brown was born in Scott County on August 28, 1949.  He worked for ZA Construction LLC for many years.  He proudly served in the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam Era.  Billy loved being outdoors working in his yard, fishing and his job working with train derailments.  His grandchildren and family were what he lived for.  Billy was a big Elvis fan and was always listening to Elvis music.  His family stated, “he had a heart of gold and always had a can of Dr. Pepper in his hand.”  He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Gus Brown and Emma Ward Brown; siblings, Jackie Brown, Dorothy Wadford, Betty Ann Austin, Robert Brown and Kavanaugh Brown.

He is survived by his loving wife, Diane Brown of Holly Springs, MS; children, Misty Brown of Holly Springs and Lori Terral and husband, Sam of Kentucky; siblings, Ruby Lantrip, Margie Winters and Peggy Lloyd; 4 grandchildren, Lexi Grace, Kaylee Terral, Karlee Terral and Tyler Brown; a host of nieces, nephews friends and other family members.

Pallbearers will be Frank Musso, Ben Mitchell, Zach Ainsworth, Justin Wood, Josh White and Tommy Thompson.  Honorary pallbearers will be Tyler Brown, Sam Terral, Randy Hegwood, Sam White, Matthew Thornton and Jimmy Brown.

Memorials may be made in his honor to the G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center, 1500 E. Woodrow Wilson Ave., Jackson, MS 39216.
