She is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence Edwin Moore and Nora Odene “Brooks” Moore, her husband of 38 years, Ray Houston Bagley, daughter Donna Bernice Bagley, Daughter Lisa Diane Bagley and son Roger Dale Bagley. She is survived by her two daughters Mary Sistrunk (Hillsboro) and Debby Dawson(Chattanooga) and her 6 grandchildren who loved her deeply and dearly, Kelli Jo Sistrunk (32), Alisa Lewis (33), Joseph Lewis (30), Jesse Dawson (19), Daniel Dawson (17), and Rae Anna Dawson (16).
She was born May 23, 1934 in the Cash community then moved to Forest. She graduated from Harperville High School in 1953. Being a good student, she then went to Business School in Jackson, MS. That year, her father was in an accident and her family needed her help. She left school to go back home to help her family. She spent her entire life helping. She helped neighbors, family, friends, her church, her children and anyone she could. She was a helper and felt her greatest accomplishments were in helping. She was mainly a stay at home mom while working side jobs that always involved helping others. She babysat, cleaned, crocheted, quilted, sat with elderly, cooked, ironed, and worked taking orders at the local Fish House. Every one of these jobs were because someone needed help. She would have done all of her jobs free of charge, and often did.
She had her share of losses here on earth. She lost a 5 day old baby born to her in Columbus, MS in 1962. She lost a 9 year old daughter in a Lena house fire in 1975. She lost her only son in an automobile accident in 1986. Through all of her losses, she remained steadfast in her faith and in her helping others. The epitaph on her stone reads “Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal”. We who remain here are happy to have her be sorrow free now. We know that as we said “There she goes”, there were others watching her coming, exclaiming “Here she comes!” She will be sorely missed here on earth but we who remain were taught by her to share all we have, to help at all times and to rest in our memories. Go to your other three babies, sweet momma, it’s their turn with you now.
