Bobbie Darrell Holmes, age 59, a lifelong resident of Lena died Monday June 13, 2016.
Funeral services were conducted at 1pm Thursday, June 16, 2016, from the chapel of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest with interment in the Faith Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation was held from 5pm to 8 pm Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest.
Mr. Holmes was born on October 30, 1956 to his parents Blant Holmes and Alice Kyzar Holmes (Watkins) in Leake County. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church. He had been employed with PCA in Pearl as a Unitizer Operator for 38 years. He loved his family and the outdoors. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father and a sister; Diane Thomas.
Survivors include his wife Evelyn Sistrunk Holmes of Lena, mother, Alice K. Homes Watkins of Goodhope; six children, Jackie Davidson of Lena, Timothy Dennis (Crystal) of Harperville, Jamie Holmes (Heather) of Pelahatchie, Kathy Lee Kyzar (John) of Forest, Bobby Lee Holmes of Lena and Priscilla Holmes of Lake. He is also survived by his brother; Sammy Holmes of Goodhope. He leaves behind a legacy of 9 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were Curtis Holmes, James Bailey, Joshua Kyzar, Chad Kyzar, Joshua Davidson, Ronald May, Jonathan Kyzar and Bradley Anderson.
