Bobby Massey

Bobby Joe Massey, age 64, and a lifelong resident of Rankin County, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Baptist Hospital in Jackson following a lengthy illness.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Morton with Bro. Billy Ray Parker , Bro. John Vaughn and Bro. Carter Fortenberry officiating. Interment will follow in the Leesburg Church of Christ Cemetery under the direction of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Monday, April 1, 2019 and begin at 9:00 am on Tuesday prior to the services at the funeral home.

A favorite pass time was fishing as was playing his guitar. He also enjoyed riding horses and tinkering with old antique cars. Mr. Massey will be remembered for the love he had for his family; his grandchildren brought him great joy. He was a Christian by faith and a member of New Hope Fellowship at Pelahatchie.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Coy D. and Annie Lee Sumrall Massey.

Survivors include his wife: Mrs. Gwen Massey of Morton; two children: Joey (Jennifer) Massey of Morton and Steve (Amanda) Massey of Pelahatchie; seven grandchildren: Eric Massey, Sarah Massey, Savannah Massey, Georgia Massey, Kaylan Massey, Luke Massey, Cameron Massey and Shelly and Peyton Massey; one sister: Pam (Harry) Smith of Morton; and one brother: Billy Jack (Christina) Massey of Morton.
