Mr. Bobby B. Means, age 82, a resident of Polkville passed away on Monday, May 7, 2012 at Brandon Nursing and Rehabilitation. Visitation will be held 5-8pm Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton and 10am-11am Wednesday at Polkville Baptist Church. Funeral service will be held at 11am Wednesday from the Polkville Baptist Church with burial in the James Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Mr. Bobby was born April 22, 1930 in Polkville, MS to the late Ford Harmon Means and Sallie Holbrook Means. Bob grew up in Polkville and graduated from Puckett High School in 1948. He then served in the U.S. Air Force from 1948-1952. He worked most of his life as an automobile mechanic or parts dealer, and drove a school bus for the Raleigh public schools for 8 years before retiring in 2008. Bob was a resident of Brandon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center from May, 2011 till his death on May 7, 2012. He was an active member and deacon at Polkville First Baptist Church. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ford and Sallie Holbrook Means.
He is survived by his wife Mrs. Jeane Louise Replogle Means; 4 children, Linda Watters (Russell) of Milwaukie, Oregon, Ronald Means (Susan) of Bogue, Chitta, Michael Means (Brenda) of Polkville and Christopher Means (Cassie) of Pelahatchie; 2 sisters, Mary Katherine Hagood of Polkville, Guynelle McDaniel of Brandon; brother, Jimmy Paul Means of Polkville; 4 grandchildren, mark Watters, Erin Watters Rhodes (Steven), Brian Means (Melanie) and Jonathan Means and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Brian Means, Jonathan Means, Larry Means, Todd Smith, Bill Gaddis and Mark Hutson.
