Bobby "Mark" Markel Thornton Morton, MS Bobby "Mark" Thornton, age 71, passed away at his residence in Morton on December 26, 2016. Funeral service was held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 2:00 pm from the Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Visitation was held from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 and services were officiated by Bro. Leon Stuart. Burial was held at the Cooperville Baptist Church Cemetery following the service. Mark was born to his parents Bryan and Sally Austin Thornton on September 10, 1945 in Raleigh, MS. Mark loved reading his bible and had a great faith in believing the word of God. One of his favorite passages of scripture was Philippians 4:13. He loved to hunt, fish, and work in the yard and gardening. He enjoyed listing to bluegrass music. He loved his family and adored his great grandbaby. Mark was a great soul and trooper when it came to doing what he needed to do, he would set his mind to it and get it done. Mark was a dialysis patient for over 31 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bryan and Sally Thornton; his wife, Mae Thornton; mother-in-law Cleo Toney; brother, Augustis Thornton; sister, Nellie Ainsworth; nephew, Jerry Ainsworth; brother-in-law, James Miller. He is survived by his three children, son, Jeff (Michelle) Thornton of Morton; daughters, Patricia Thornton of Morton, Tina (Mark) Harrell of Forest; sisters, Jane Miller; brother, Matt Thornton; his grandchildren, Courtney Nelson, Trinity Thornton, Heather Thornton, Brady Bridges, Braxton Bridges, great-grandchild, Brooklin Hackett. Serving as pallbearers Mark Harrell, Tomm Wilson, John David Jones, Kevin Gainey, Chris Coker, James Ray Adcox; and honorary pallbearers were John Ainsworth, Dr. Bill Moore, and Jimmie Lane Cooper Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee Funeral Home of Morton.
