Bobby Eugene Killebrew, age 80, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2016. He was born in Cruger, Mississippi, on July 27, 1936.
Bobby spent his working life in manufacturing. He served in various management positions for Textron, Inc., in Durant and Morton and McCarty Farms in Forest, and as vice president of processing for Green Acres Farms, Inc.
He was devoted to his family and was an active member of Baptist Churches in Cruger, Durant and Forest. The love of his life was Jo Ann Robertson Killebrew of Durant, who passed away three years ago after the 57 years of their marriage. Bobby was Jo Ann’s tireless caregiver as her health declined during the more than 20 years that she suffered from multiple sclerosis.
Bobby graduated from Cruger-Tchula High School, attended Holmes County Junior College, and graduated in 1958 from Mississippi State University. He was a life-long, ferocious MSU Bulldog.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Milan Eugene Killebrew and Bessie Farrish Killebrew, and his brothers, Wayne Killebrew and Billy Joe Killebrew.
Bobby is survived by his children, Karan Clark (Eric) of Brandon and Marcus Killebrew (Peggy) of Rogers, Arkansas; by five grandchildren, Charles Clark (Katy) and Catherine Clark, Jon Marc Killebrew, Jacob Killebrew and Joseph Killebrew; and by two great-grandchildren, Benjamin Clark and Elliot Clark.
Funeral servicews will be held at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon at 11 a.m. Thursday with visitation from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. There will follow a graveside service at the Mizpah Cemetery in Durant.
