Mrs. Bonnie Pearl Porter, age 76, a resident of Morton passed away on Friday, February 24, 2012 at Scott Regional Hospital in Morton. Visitation was held 10am-1pm Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Funeral service was held 1pm Saturday at Ott & Lee Funeral Home with Bro. Ricky Watkins officiating the services. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Mrs. Porter was a native of Edinburg, MS. She was the daughter of Sam McPhail and Ruby Bell. She was married to Billy Wayne Porter. Mrs. Porter served the public over 20 years at the Gulf Café in Morton. She loved to crochet and work with her hands. Mrs. Porter loved her family very much and spending time with them brought great joy to her life. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.

Mrs. Porter was preceded in death by her parents, Sam PcPhail and Ruby Bell, sister, Mattie Bell Kelly and 2 nephews.

Mrs. Porter is survived by her husband, Billy Wayne Porter of Morton; children, Judith Marie Champion (Terry) of Forkville, Ruby Melinda Morgan (Hershell) of Morton, Bobby Elery McGriff (Jan) of Morton, John Lidell McGriff of Morton, John “JJ” McGriff (Nikki) of Homewood and Ruby Johnson (Jay) of Pulaski; 5 grandchildren, Shayne Jones, Veronica Lynn Jones, Aaron Champion, Cody Shedd and Ryan McGriff; 7 great grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren and a niece, Betty Sue Dedmon.

Serving as pallbearers were Shayne Jones, Aaron Champion, Jay Morgan, Brad Smith, Chris Yarbough, and James Madison Cockrell. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Ryan McGriff, Cody Shedd and Dee “Duke” Ragsdale.
