Cleveland L. “Bossie” Wadsworth
Cleveland Lee Wadsworth, 82, died Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Mississippi Care Center in Morton. He was a devoted husband, father, and pawpaw. Visitation is 5-8pm Thursday, December 21, 2017, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Services are 10am Friday, December 22, 2017, at Shiloh United Methodist Church in the Shiloh community. Burial will follow in Shiloh UMC Cemetery. Rev. David Slaughter and Rev. Booth Poole will officiate.
Bossie was born on January 10, 1935 to Grover Cleveland and Erma Lee Wadsworth. He grew up in the Lodebar community and graduated from Crossroads High School. Bossie married Patsy Franklin on July 24, 1954, and was a loyal member of Shiloh United Methodist Church and the Friendship Sunday School class. He was a builder for Albert Moore and owner of Wadsworth Construction. He was retired and enjoying his family and friends. He loved to fish and watch his favorite sports teams, the Atlanta Braves and East Rankin Academy basketball. He was a very talented bass singer and had a passion for music and mission work, where he has been to many places of the world on mission trips.
Bossie is survived by his sisters, Mary Nell Medina and Bernice Whittington; son, Arron Wadsworth of Pelahatchie; daughter, Denise Bates (Eddie) of Pelahatchie; grandchildren, Meagan Smith, Jamie Goldman (Cody), Amanda King (Matt); great grandchildren, Jaci Lee, Aidan, Ethan, Leland, Gage, and Oaklee. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy.
Pallbearers are Robert Warren, Richard Warren, Kevin Rhodes, Kurt Rhodes, Kyle Rhodes,
Randy Knight, Ken Ryals, and Jerry Martin. The Friendship Sunday School class at Shiloh United Methodist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
