It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brenda Joyce Burns, a beloved member of our community. Brenda was born on January 19, 1960, in Jackson, Mississippi, to her parents Barney Cecil Rushing, Sr. and Joanne Conn Rushing. She was a remarkable individual who dedicated her life to helping others as a Hospice Nurse for 30 years. Brenda's career was not simply a profession; it was her true passion. She poured her heart and soul into providing comfort and care to those in their final stages of life. Her selflessness knew no bounds as she went above and beyond her call of duty. Brenda would often present each family with an angel keepsake to honor the memory of their loved ones. Following the Funeral Service, a Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 AM at Crestview Memorial Gardens in Brandon, Mississippi. Here, Brenda will find her final resting place surrounded by the beautiful landscape that mirrors the tranquility she instilled in those she cared for.
Brenda will forever be remembered for her sweet and caring nature. She carried herself with grace, touching the lives of everyone around her. She also leaves behind four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her immediate family members, Brenda is survived by other relatives and countless friends who shared in her journey of compassion and love.
