Brenda Phillips

Mrs. Brenda Munn Phillips, age 66, of Pelahatchie passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at MS Baptist Hospital in Jackson.

A Celebration of Life will be at 10:00am on Friday, July 9, 2021, at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Visitation will be from 5:00pm until 8:00pm on Thursday, July 8, 2021, at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton and again on Friday from 9:00am until service time. Rev. Jerry Hamilton, Rev. David Dean, and Rev. Tal Vardaman officiating. Burial will follow in Groveton Presbyterian Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Darryl Phillips, Randy Phillips, Brian Kennedy, Scott Ulrich, David Atkinson, and Dakota Kennedy.

Brenda was born in Morton, MS on December 14, 1954, to the late Harvey Dewitt Munn and Mabel Earlene Henry Munn.

She loved animals, Elvis, and music. Brenda loved visiting the elderly in Nursing Homes and ministering to them by cooking for them and loving on them. She worked for the State of MS for MEMA and the EOC assisting with disaster rescue and recovery efforts during Hurricane Katrina. Brenda was truly a kind and caring person who touched many lives, was truly loved and will be missed.

Brenda is survived by her husband, Kenny Phillips of Morton, MS; children, Shannon Callahan (Kathy) of Morton, MS, and Susan Ulrich (Scott) of Summit, MS; sister, Mitzi Munn Evans (Jeff) of Suntag, MS; grandchildren, Ada, Ella, Andy, and Casey Ulrich; grandchildren, Hannah, Jacob, Caleb, and Micah Walters. Numerous other family members and many friends.
