Brett Taylor Posey

Brett Taylor Posey, 34, a resident of Lake, MS passed away on April 20, 2024. Visitation will be held at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Forest on Wednesday, April 24 from 11am-3pm. A chapel service will begin at 3pm followed by a graveside service at Dennis Cemetery in Lake. Bro. Chris Sledge will officiate.

Brett was born May 31, 1989 to Lynn and Donnie Posey. He was a lifelong resident of Lake MS and a born-again member of Sand Ridge Baptist Church. He had four nieces and nephews that he adored and loved to spend time with. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brothers, and especially loved to get together with his family for cookouts or just to enjoy their time together. Brett was known to be the type of guy to give you the shirt off his back, he had a huge heart and would do anything to help anyone in need. His presence brought joy to the lives of many, and his absence will be deeply felt by those who loved him.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Mardis Taylor; and his paternal grandparents, Jimmy and Elsie Posey; and his uncle, James Taylor.

Brett leaves behind one daughter, Jewel Posey; his parents, Lynn and Donnie Posey; maternal grandmother, Betty Ruth Taylor; two brothers, Mason (Haley) Posey, and Andy Posey; a niece, Emma Posey; three nephews, Jase, Andrew, and Eiland Posey; his Aunt Lisa Posey, and Uncle Brian Taylor; and a host of cousins and close friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Mason Posey, Andrew Posey, Jason Wilkerson, Ely Harrison, Chris Alford, Adam Savell, Jackie Culpepper, and Dustin Stroud
