Brittye Jean Gill, 87, passed away Thurs. Feb. 7, 2013 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS. Visitation will be held Sun. Feb. 10, 2013 from 12pm.-1:45pm. at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS with funeral services being held at 2pm. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow the services at the Johns Cemetery in Rankin County.
Mrs. Gill was born on March 23, 1925 in Leesburg, MS. Her parents were Louis and Agnes Walsh. She was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi and Mississippi College. Jean taught school for 14 years and was principal for 19 years at Northside Elementary School in Pearl, MS. She was an active member of Johns Baptist Church. In later years she joined Crossgates Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ronald Gordon, and her second husband of 50 years, Earl Gill. Survivors include her daughter, Lark Boyette (Marshall); grandchildren, Grant Boyette (Jennifer) and Krista Boyette; one great grandchild, Adee Boyette; brother, Randy Walsh and her sisters, Julia Beth Crapps and Thelma Merchant (Grady).
