Bruce Allen Harris, born on November 30, 1951, in Union, MS, passed away on March 20, 2025, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, and grandfather, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter.
Bruce had a long and fulfilling career as a senior cost analyst at Eaton Aerospace in Jackson. He was dedicated to his profession and made numerous contributions during his years of service. He graduated from Pisgah Schools and furthered his education by earning a Master’s degree in business administration and marketing from Belhaven University.
Those who knew Bruce appreciated him for his warm personality. He was often described as a "man's man," and to know him was truly to love him. Bruce had a remarkable sense of humor that brought joy to many. He enjoyed building birdhouses and working with wood, finding creativity and peace in these hobbies. He also loved shooting pool, playing dominoes, and most importantly, spending quality time with his family.
Bruce is survived by his beloved wife Bobbie Harris; his son Jason Harris and daughter-in-law Lory; mother Plevna Meador Harris; his sisters Trish Harris Aldy and Stephanie Harris Welborn; his grandchildren Parker William Harris and Kylie Lane Reed; and his nieces Melanie Becton and Melissa Riche'; nephews, Joshua Polk, Adam Welborn, and Sam Welborn.
Bruce was preceded in death by his father Robert Lee Harris.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a memorial service 2:00 PM at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS.
In lieu of flowers Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
He will be deeply missed by all who had the fortune of knowing him.
