Bruce Edward Maupin, 84, passed away Thursday, November 26, 2020, at Merit Health Rankin.   Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS.

Bruce was born in Pensacola, FL on September 10, 1936.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing; and his passion for electronics began in the Amateur Radio Club while in high school.  He repaired TV’s and radios after school and on weekends until graduating high school and joining the United States Air Force.

Bruce completed 4 years of service to his country and went to work for the Federal Aviation Administration installing and maintaining several types of radar systems.  He retired from the FAA after 40 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thelma Bernice Sharpe Hudgens and Calvin Hudgens; brother, Tom Maupin; and son William Malone.  He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Leighty Maupin; children, Debbie Emanul, Debbie Maupin Banfield, Buddy Maupin, Julee Peacock, Rick Moore, Sandy Maupin McClure, David Moore, Teresa Sprayberry, Susan Maupin Carey, Nicole Maupin Richie and William Malone Maupin; 19 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.
