VISIT: 5-7 PM THURSDAY AT OTT AND LEE IN BRANDON AND 11 AM FRIDAY AT CENTER RIDGE BAPTIST CHURCH

Burley E. Smith, 75, passed away on Wednesday, December 07, 2011 at Wisteria Gardens in Pearl, MS.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 8 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon from 5 pm until 7 pm and starting at 11 am on Friday at Center Ridge Baptist Church in Yazoo County until the 1 pm service in the Church. Interment will be in Center Ridge Baptist Cemetery.
Mr. Smith was a lifelong resident of Yazoo County and graduated from Hinds Junior College. He was a veteran of the US Army and he owned and operated Burley Smith Lumber Company in Yazoo County for over 30 years. Burley also loved to hunt and be outdoors.
His wife, Joy Foran Smith, parents Robert S. Smith and Prudy Posey Smith; sister, Joan Dean preceded him in death.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Dana Neary (husband Mike) of Brookston, IN and Leah Martin (husband Randy) of Cato, MS; grandchildren, Patrick Neary, Molly Martin, Catie Neary and Shelby Martin; brother, Bobby Smith of Yazoo County; sister, Lela Lammons of Texas.
The family would like to thank the staff of Wisteria Gardens for the love and care given to Mr. Smith.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Baptist Children’s Village.
