Funeral services for Mr. Byron Sistrunk will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 from the Rocky Hill Church of God with Bro. Guy McGarrity officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest.
Visitation will be from 1:00 pm –2:45 pm Wednesday at the church prior to the funeral service.
Byron Mack Sistrunk, age 59, was born in Jackson on Saturday, September 20, 1958 to his parents, the late Crongie “Mack” and Margarie Winfield Sistrunk. He passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian.
He will be remembered for his love for family gatherings, the game of dominoes, and his wit. Byron was a retired truck driver for Nolan Sistrunk Trucking and was a member of the Church of God at Rocky Hill.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Helen Abbs and Edna Earl Goforth; and three brothers: Connor, David, and Selby.
Survivors include his wife of over 25 years: Mrs. Mary Bagley Sistrunk of Forest; three children: Kelli Jo Sistrunk of Lake; Alisa Lewis of New Orleans, LA; and Joseph Lewis of Forest; two grandchildren: Adrien Ormond and Kelsi Ormond; one sister: Corliss Serber of Jackson; and two brothers: Jimmy Sistrunk of Collinsville and Paul Wayne Sistrunk of Philadelphia; one special sister-in-law: Debby Bagley Dawson and her family of Chatanooga, TN; and several loved nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Gavin Sistrunk, Andy Lawrence, Jake Sistrunk, Brock Pope, Chris Lawrence, Dale Ormond, Austin Wilkinson, Hayden Wilkinson, and John Reese.
