Mr. Caley Easterling, age 83, a resident of Morton passed away on Friday, January 21, 2011 at the V.A. Hospital in Jackson. Visitation was held 3-7pm Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Funeral Services were held 1pm Monday, January 24, 2011 from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial in the Polkville Baptist Cemetery. Rev. Aaron Safley and Rev. Barron Price officiated the services. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Mr. Easterling is a native of Morton. He was a self-employed farmer for many years. He was a proud Veteran of World War II. He served in the Army and won several medals, WW II Victory Medal and Army of Occupational Medal. He was a loving father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
He was preceded in death by his spouse, Mildred A. Parker Easterling; son, Mike Easterling; parents, Henry Thomas Easterling and Verna Phillips Easterling; 2 sisters, Ruth Easterling and Annie Rae Owens; 6 brothers, Leo, Kenneth, Willard, Doug, Robert and Lloyd Easterling.
He is survived by son, Danny Easterling (Darlene) of Pearl; 2 sisters, Shirley Bearden (Jay) of Richland and Betty Jean Garner (Estis) of Jackson; 2 brothers, Dennis “Buddy” Easterling (Janice) of Morton and James Easterling (Bobbie) of Pascagoula; 4 grandchildren, Amanda Parish, Michael Easterling, Jason Easterling and Lacey Easterling Steadham; 7 great grandchildren, Leis Parish, Kalen Parish, Zach Easterling, Bryce Lang, Patrick Easterling, Brooklynn Steadham and Haylee Steadham and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were Larry Easterling, Roger Easterling, Rocky Easterling, Eugene Owens, Aaron Kyzar and William Traxler. Honorary pallbearers were Tony Owens, Estus Garner, Junior Hamilton, Travis Hamilton, Zachary Easterling, Patrick Easterling and Nathan Easterling.
