Carey Jean Goodman Freeman surrounded by her family went to be with her Lord and Savior Oct. 30, 2018. Carey Jean along with her late husband worked for many years at Stanwood in Pelahatchie. Once Stanwood closed she went to work for Hudspeth Regional Center in Support Coordination where she worked up until the time of her passing. Carey Jean was known as one who loved to work and serve. She was a long standing member of Lodebar united Methodist church, where she had been the church treasurer for many many years, Carey Jean loved to serve her Lord in church. She was the pure definition of one with a true servant heart. She would often be found as the one behind the scenes making sure every little detail was being taken care of. There were so many things that brought her joy, working in her yard, serving her church, cooking for everyone and anyone she could, those Southern Miss Golden Eagles, but nothing brought more joy than spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
Mrs Freeman was preceded in death by her Parents Ned and Vergie Goodman of Pelahatchie and her Husband Larry K. Freeman of Pelahatchie. She is survived by her two daughters Cassie Means (Chris) of Pelahatchie and Cara Hall (Kenny) of Poplarville, Her sisters Charlene Winstead of Pelahatchie, and Tommie Fae Goodman of Morton. Along with a Host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is also survived by Carrie Coley Beasley (Jeff) of New Orleans La and Jonathan Coley (Tania) of Baton Rouge LA. who she loved as her own, along with Hadley Belle and Tucker Coley and Jaxson and Addison Beasley who lovingly called her Granny.
The family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made in her memory to The Mustard Seed.
