Carl D. Blatt, 64, passed away Sat. Feb. 5, 2011 at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation will be held Tues. Feb. 8, 2011 from 9am.-10:45am. at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Funeral Services are 11am. Tues. Feb. 8, 2011 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon with interment following in the Lakeland Place Garden Park Cemetery in Brandon. Fr. Jerry Hurley will officiate the service. Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon will be in charge of arrangements.
Carl was and avid sports fan particularly MS State football, baseball, and basketball. The past three years he spent many devoted hours following the baseball career of his future son-in-law as he progressed in the ranks of the Washington Nationals. Carl also was always very interested and involved in the world of hunting birds and deer, however his tender heart always prevented him from actually shooting a deer. He spent many hours in recent years passing time with dear friends and his children fishing.
 The light of his life were his son and daughter, each of whom he was so very proud. He and Ginger shared 36 wonderful years of marriage as well as the many, many memories created from the involvement in the lives of Wes and Whitney and many wonderful friends.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lois Sullivan Blatt and his father and mother in law, Rudy and Jennie Frank.
Carl is survived by his wife, Ginger Blatt of Brandon; son, Wes Blatt of Brandon; daughter, Whitney (Fiancé, Tyler Moore) of Brandon; and his beloved companion dogs, Bailey, Blondie, Lucy, Rainey and Bella, many cousins and a host of friends.
