Carlos Loray McNamee, 92, passed away on May 26, 2015, at VA Medical Center, Jackson, MS. Visitation will be at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon 2-5PM on Sunday, May 31, 2015. Services will be held at Ott & Lee Chapel 11:00AM on Monday, June 01, 2015, immediately followed by grave side service at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Pearl MS.
Chuck (or Skeet by his school classmates) was born on September 14, 1922 in Meridian, MS to the late W.F. McNamee and Clara Covington McNamee. A little of his life history: Member of Brandon Presbyterian Church as a youth; Served in the US Navy during WWII aboard the USS Enterprise in the Battle of Midway plus other major battles in the Pacific theater; US Army Reserves; Charter member and Elder at Pearl Presbyterian Church; Retired US Postal Service. He enjoyed farming, raising livestock, gardening and woodworking.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 2 sisters; Firman, Carey, Harry, Wayne, Ethlyn Grinnell and Lillie May Madison.
Survivors include his wife, Merrit Hardie and 2 children: daughter Carla McNamee Frisbee, her husband Dennis Frisbee; and son Bruce McNamee, his wife Jeannie McCrory. He has 4 grandchildren: Dennis Frisbee, Leigh Frisbee Lenz, Joshua McNamee and Maygan McNamee Albert; plus 6 great-grandchildren: Tyler and Lauren Frisbee; Bradley and Brandon Lenz; Behr and Neve Albert.
