Carol Johnson

Carol Jane Johnson, a resident of Lake, MS passed away on Friday, September 9th, 2022.  She was born on April 28, 1969, to Carl Cecil Holliday and Mary Helen Avent Holliday Hoover in Crystal Springs, MS.  She was joined in Matrimony on March 31, 2003, to her loving Spouse Jimmy Hugh Johnson in Chattanooga, TN.

Carol was a loving wife and mother, doting aunt, and loyal sister.  She was an outspoken, hilarious, multifaceted, loving person.   Her family and friends meant the world to her, especially her Husband Hugh and beautiful Son Ben.  She expressed her love frequently and meant it.  She loved Art, antiques, and all things unique.  She had a passion for literature, music, and humor which she shared with her son, numerous nieces, and nephews along with anyone else she happened to meet.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. She had the ability to communicate and connect with everyone on an intimate level.  She will be missed greatly by all as she was an intricate part of many people’s lives as well as their closest friend.

Carol is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Helen Hoover, Stepfather, Henry Hoover, Father-in-law Van Edmondson, and Nephew Roland Flanagan, III.

She is survived by her husband (Hugh Johnson), son (Benjamin Johnson), father (Carl Holliday), sisters (Angel Flanagan, Joanna Hamm, Cecilie Prest, Tristan Craun), brother (Kendrick Holliday), nieces (Cierra Abney, Jessica Hartfield, Victoria “Tori” Anderson, Deana Tygart, Erica Woods, Holly Prest, Emily Koiner, & Lily Craun), Nephews (Stewart Angell, Justin Flanagan, Brendon & Christian Hamm, & Jack Craun) along with a host of great nieces and nephews which she dearly loved.

Visitation of family members will be held on Friday September 23rd, 2022, at Cornerstone Church in Pearl, MS from 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. A celebration of life memorial service will follow at 6:30 to 7:00 and a repast meal to follow.
