Carolyn Petronia Sexton

Carolyn Petronia (Tronia) Sexton departed this life July 7, 2024, her maternal grandmother’s birthday.

A visitation will be Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon from 5:00 until 7:00 pm with Bro. Jimmy Errington to say a few words at 7:00 pm. 

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Wade Sexton; one son, Wil Sexton (Alishia); two grandsons, Caden Sexton and Josh Sexton; her mother, Carolyn Pyles; two brothers, Robert J. Smith and Joseph E. Smith; and a large extended family.

She was a registered nurse and graduated number 2 in her class at St. Dominic’s School of Nursing. She was a member of Hickory Ridge Baptist Church and was known for her wonderful cakes. She loved teaching and tutoring neighborhood children, and she and Wade enjoyed sponsoring children for camp. She loved Thanksgiving, and she always donated several turkeys. 

She was so loved. 

Because she loved contributing to Samaritan’s Purse and Batson Children’s Hospital, we ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to these two organizations.
