Carolyn Ann Thompson, 77, a resident of Morton died Thursday, August 19, 2010 at MS Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Funeral services will be 2 pm Sunday, August 22, 2010 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton with burial in the Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-8 pm Saturday, August 21, 2010 and 12noon until 2 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Rev. John Miles and Rev. Gary Gene Smith will officiate the services. Ott and Lee Funeral home in Morton will be in charge of arrangements.Mrs. Thompson is a native of Florence, AL and has lived in Morton for over 40 years. She was the daughter of Eusker Louis Smith and Edna Laura Kimbrell. She was married to the late Chester L. Thompson. Mrs. Thompson loved her family and spending time with them brought great joy to her life. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her parents, Eusker Louis Smith and Edna Laura Kimbrell, husband, Chester L. Thompson, daughter, Jennifer Lynn Duvall. Mrs. Thompson is survived by her children, Terry Lee Thompson of Morton, Marion Joseph Thompson (Judy) of Morton, Sandy Taylor (Scotty) of Morton and Roy Lee Thompson (Stacey) of Martinsville, IN; sister, Louise Odom (Robert) of Poplarville, MS; brothers, Rev. Gary Gene Smith of Florence, AL; brother-in-law, Sammy Smith of Lawrenceburg, TN; grandchildren, Joseph Augustus Thompson of Raleigh, Gracie Nicole Thompson of Raleigh, Matthew Ian Stokes of Morton and Daniel Adam Duvall of Guam; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
