Carolyn Triplett

Carolyn East Triplett, 87, passed away Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Lackey Convalescent Home of Forest, MS. Carolyn and her twin sister, Nancy, were born to Isaac Cooper East, M.D. and his wife Nell on April 12, 1936. Carolyn met her husband Oliver while both were attending Ole Miss. The two were soon married and moved to Oliver’s hometown of Forest, Mississippi, where they had two sons: Oliver (O.B.) and Cooper.

Carolyn was involved in many community endeavors including Girl Scouts, women’s church groups, and other philanthropic organizations. She also enjoyed swimming, tennis, and traveling. Carolyn was known for her proper, formal table setting on special occasions including Sunday dinner.

Carolyn had a heart for the Lord and had a gracious spirit.

Carolyn is survived by her son, O.B. Triplett, and his wife Ingrid and grandchildren Beaman and Olivia (Toby) and great-grandchildren Eloise and Isabel. Preceding Carolyn in death were her parents, sisters, husband, and son (Cooper).

Funeral services will be conducted by Ott & Lee Funeral Home, Forest, Mississippi, with visitation and funeral being held at Forest Presbyterian Church on Thursday, November 16, 2023. Visitation will commence at 10:00 A.M., with the funeral to follow at 11:00 A.M.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Forest Presbyterian Church Building Fund and French Camp Academy.
