Catherine M. Devine, 52, passed away on Friday, June 17, 2011 at her parent’s home in Brandon. Visitation will be Monday, June 20, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon from 6 pm until 8 pm with a prayer service at 7 pm. A Mass will be held 10 am Tuesday, June 21, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Jackson, with interment following in Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson.
Cathy was employed for 23 years at Lillian Vernon Corporation in Virginia Beach, VA, as a computer programmer. She was an accomplished baker and needle worker. Cathy always made Christmas very memorable for her family with baking, especially her cookies and her generous gifts.
Catherine was the second of ten children, born on December 2, 1958 to Richard M. and Anne Casey Freibert.
Survivors include her loving husband, Jeff Devine, Sr.; parents, Richard M. Freibert and Anne Casey Freibert of Brandon; 3 step sons, Jeff (Katrina) Devine, Jr. of Colorado Springs, CO, Frank (Sarah) Devine of San Antonio, TX and Brian Devine of St. Louis, MO; 5 sisters, Terry (Joe) Tramuta of Fairhope, AL, Peggy (Billy) Horton of Hattiesburg, MS, Angie (Chris) Nix of Pelahatchie, MS, Anna (Buddy) Hairston of Pelahatchie, MS and Susan (Tommy) Slay of Tallahassee, FL; 4 brothers, Ricky (Suzan) Freibert of Tuscan, AZ, Franz (Marcie Davis) Freibert of Santa Fe, NM, Tommy (Dina) Freibert of Clinton, MS and Chris Freibert of Hattiesburg, MS; 5 grandsons and 3 granddaughters, and many nieces and nephews.
