Mr. Cecil Eli Collins, age 69 passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at the University Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 1:00 pm from the Piney Grove Cemetery in Polkville, MS with Bro. Marty Wilson presiding. Visitation was held Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at the Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton, MS and burial was at the Piney Grove Cemetery in Polkville, MS.
Mr. Cecil was born the son of Mr. Lester Godfrey Collins and Mrs. Minnie Jane Rogers Collins Holley, on November 17, 1946 in Hisel Kentucky. He was a member of the Polkville Baptist Church of Polkville, MS. He loved hunting and fishing; loved working and restoring old classic cars. His sister shared that growing up he would take any kind of motor regardless of what it was and fix them. He worked for B. C. Rogers as a diesel mechanic for many years. He enjoyed playing the guitar and loved bluegrass music. He loved his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Maybell Collins; and his parents, Mr. Lester Godfrey Collins and Mrs. Minnie Jane Rogers Collins Holley.
Cecil is survived by his daughter, Glenda (Ken) Smith of Smithville, MS; granddaughter, Brittany Smith; grandson, Josh Smith; sister Dorothy Taylor of Hisel Kentucky; and a niece and nephews; and a hosts friends.
Serving as Pallbearers Junior Hamilton, Sheldon Hamilton, Billie Ray Atkins, Ken Smith, Josh Smith.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton, MS.
