Mr. Charles L. Walker, age 91, a resident of Morton passed away on Friday, December 15, 2017 at Lackey Memorial Hospital in Forest. Visitation was held 5-8pm Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Services were held 2pm Sunday, December 17, 2017 from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial in North Morton Baptist Cemetery. Bro. Gary Wyatt and Bro. Paul Smith officiated the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Mr. Walker was born in Scott County on October 28, 1926. He loved to turkey and deer hunt and fish. Charles was a talented artist and loved working in his garden. He loved fixing things and repairing guns. Charles loved the Lord and his church family at North Morton Baptist Church. He was a Deacon and the oldest member of the church. Charles loved his family very much and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Stella Jean S. Walker; his parents, Charlie Walker and Dossie Wade Walker; brother, Ted Walker and sister Jean Everett.
He is survived by his son, Michael Walker and wife, Renea of Morton; sister, Ruth Livingston of Tulsa, Ok; 2 grandchildren, J.C. Walker (Phoebe) and Brad Boykin (Hayley); 6 great grandchildren, Destiny Walker, Santana Sims, Ashton Sims, Rylan Boykin, Ripley Boykin and Buckley Boykin; his loving church family and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were Richard Gregory, John Paul Wallace, Leland Burchfield, Scott Thomas, Doug Sanders, Donald O'cain and Clay Howard. Honorary pallbearers were Senior Adult Mens Sunday School Class.
Memorials may be made in his honor to St. Judes Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
