Mr. Charles Lester, age 85, a resident of Morton passed away on
Friday, July 7, 2017 from a automobile accident. Visitation was held 5-9pm Thursday, July 13, 2017 from Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Services were held 2pm Friday, July 14, 2017 from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial in Hodge Hill Cemetery. Bro. Jerry Hamilton officiated the services. Arrangments were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Mr. Lester was born in Shaw, MS on December 18, 1931. He was a member of the First Apostolic Church in Pelahatchie and loved the Lord. He loved to be outdoors gardening, fishing and deer hunting. Charles enjoyed watching and cheering for the San Francisco Giants baseball team. He loved to travel and even just what he called joying riding. Charles loved his family very much and spending time with them brought him great joy. He will be missed by all that loved and knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Coleman Watson Lester and Bertha Lee Phillips Lester; daughter, Patricia Kay Lester; grandson, Paul Delano Bell; 2 brothers, Coleman Watson Lester Jr. and Billy Joe Lester; 3 sisters, Nita Jean Copeland, Georgia Anna Lester and Mary Ellen Lester; stepmother, Alma Lester.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Lester of Morton; 7 children, Charles Lester Jr. of Greenville, Danny Lester of Greenville, Evelyn Bell of Rolling Fork, Georgia Westbrooks (Donald) of Pelahatchie, Brenda Alexander (Randy) of Braxton, Robbie Rust (Troy) of Pelahatchie and Randy Lester of Morton; 2 brothers, James Lester of Greenwood and Harvey Lester of Shaw; 18 grandchildren, Ashley Franklin, Evan Alexander, Karlee Alexander, Courtney Blissett, Zachary Rust, Chandler Rust, Isabella Rust, Jamie Bell, Paul Bell, Carla Smith, Danny Lester, Jr., Wesley Lester, Renee Lester, Matthew Lester, Brad Lester, Hunter Marner, Angie Coffman and Eric Lester; 23 great grandchildren and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were Zack Rust, Evan Alexander, Chandler Rust, Anthony Blissett, Jamie Bell and Paul Rust. Honorary pallbearers were Danny Lester, Johnathon Franklin, D.J. McGinty and Andy Loyd Griffin.
