Mr. Charles Hulon Lowe, age 80, flew to Jesus Thursday, October 21, 2021 at his residence. Visitation is 2 pm Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Services are 4 pm Sunday at the funeral home with burial in Crestview Memorial Gardens in Brandon.
Charlie graduated from Columbia High School and later attended the University of Mississippi. After college, Charlie entered the United States Air Force. After his four years of service, he fulfilled his dream of becoming a pilot. He later retired with the state of Mississippi after nearly 40 years of flying. Charlie was an avid fisherman. He was a member of a local bass club where he loved comparing fishing stories with two of his fellow “fish liars”, Frankie Alford and Ronnie Jones. Charlie married his love,Judy, in 1990, and they were married for 31 years. They enjoyed spending as much time as possible together, whether it be on a golf course or at their favorite vacation spot, Walt Disney World.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Judy Lowe of Pearl; son, Greg Lowe (Joy) of Albaster, AL; daughters, Donna Ratliff of Kirbyville, TX, Julie Kennedy (John) of Starkville, MS and Lisa Rodgers (Jamie) of Columbus, MS; sister, Carolyn Whealton (Ray) of Carrierre, MS, 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Shelton and Margie Olivia Spence; sister, Barbara Mitchell; son-in-law, Kerry Ratliff and father-in-law, David Monaghan.
Pallbearers are his grandsons, Mitch Lowe, Daniel Lowe, Coleman Kennedy, Peyton Rodgers, Colin Kennedy and Jason Miller.
Memorials may be made to the Gideons International or Brandon Baptist Church Music Ministry, 100 Brandon Baptist Drive, Brandon, MS 39042.
