Charles Owen Green, 88, a resident of Mendenhall, MS passed away Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Strong River Villas in Mendenhall, MS. A graveside service will be held at 11 am Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Calvary Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Mize, MS. Visitation will be held 5-7 pm Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS.
Mr. Green was born December 31, 1929 to Henry Owen Green and Rosie Almedia Chandler Green. He was married to Billie Maxine Ainsworth Green. Mr. Green was High School All American at Taylorsville High School. He worked many years for General Electric before retiring. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He will lovingly be remembered by his family as everything a man should be, one who loved children and was everyone’s babysitter, a great water skier and one who loved to dance. He loved his family and spending time with them brought great joy to his life. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
Mr. Green was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Billie Maxine Ainsworth Green; parents, Henry Owen Green and Rosie Almedia Chandler Green; and his sister, Helen.
Mr. Green is survived by his daughters, Linda (Tommy) Moss and Charlotte (David) Watts; grandchildren, Jody (Michelle) White, Sissy (Jim) Presley, Lisa (Jay) Bass and Lauren (Joseph) Murphey; six great grandchildren; special niece and nephew, Betty Allen (Burl) Crosby and Ricky (Maurine) Allen; several other family and friends.
The family wishes to thank Strong River Villas for the love and care given during this time.
Serving and honoring Mr. Green as pallbearers will be Cheyne Robinson, Chuck Robinson, Eric Robinson, Burl Crosby, Jay Bass, Joseph Murphey and Jody White.
