Mr. Charles Earl Prestage was born in Morton at the Scott County Hospital on June 21, 1967 to his parents Mr. Murry Prestage, Jr., and Mrs. Mary Jean Shoemaker Smith. He passed away at his home on May 18, 2019 at the age of 51.
Charles Earl will be remembered for his enjoyment of fishing and hunting; and for the love he had for his family, especially his only grandchild. He was a member of the Leesburg Church of Christ.
His father preceded him in death, as did his step-father, Mr. Walter Smith.
Survivors include his mother: Mrs. Mary Jean Shoemaker Prestage Smith of the home; two children: Christopher Earl Prestage and LaShonda Marie Watkins, both of Morton; one grandchild: Kelan Gage Watkins; the mother of his children: Mrs. Wanda Alford; of Pelahatchie; one sister: Loretta J. (Brian) Blake of Forest; one brother: Larry (Betty) Prestage of Brandon; three stepbrothers: Paul, Keith, and Chris Smith; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Services will begin at 2:00 pm on Monday, May 20, 2019 from the Leesburg Church of Christ with Bro. Larry Hunt and Bro. Jerry Shoemaker officiating. Interment will follow in the Leesburg Church of Christ Cemetery under the direction of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Sunday, May 19, 2019 at the church and continue until service time on Monday.
Serving as pallbearers will be Roger Prestage, Mitchell Craig, Michael Craig, Morgan Franklin, Joshua Blake and Jesse Holmes.
