Charles Thompson

May 19, 1941 — December 23, 2017

Mr. Charles Thompson, age 76 passed away at the MS Care Center in Morton on Saturday, December 23, 2017.  Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am at the Leesburg Baptist Church on Wednesday, December 27, 2017.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm at the Ott and Lee Funeral Home In Morton and again on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 9:00 until 9:45 am at the Ott and Lee Funeral Home prior to the service at Leesburg Baptist Church.  Interment will be held at the Leesburg Baptist Church Cemetery immediately following the service.

Mr. Thompson was born on May 19, 1941 to Claude and Lennie Renfroe Thompson.  He owned and operated a poultry farm for many years, in addition to raising cattle and horses.  In 1998 he designed and built Triple T Arena.  The arena hosted barrel races, cattle roping, bull riding and Saturday night fun rodeos.  He met many people and made many friends at these events.  He was a lifelong resident of the Morton area and a longtime member of Leesburg Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Lennie Thompson; four brothers, Jimmy Dale Thompson, Cos Thompson, Mack Thompson, and Herman "Hank" Thompson.

Charles is survived by his wife, Linda Bates Thompson; his sons, Glen (Carrie) Thompson of Morton, Herman Thompson of Morton; his sisters, Estelle Shedd of Petal, Linda Johnson of Jackson; his brothers, James (Jimmie) Thompson of Morton, Paul Ray (Renae) Thompson of Morton, Roger Thompson of Morton; his grandsons, Matthew Massey, Wyatt Thompson; his sister-in-laws, Patsy Thompson and Elsie Thompson; a host of family and friends.

Serving as pallbearers are Robbie Cos Thompson, Kenneth Thompson, Macky Thompson, Jamie Thompson, Luke Thompson, Alex Thompson, Larry Johnson, and Hal Land

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee of Morton.
