Charles Roland Walker, 76, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at his home in Star. Visitation will be Thursday, September 28, 2017 from 1 pm until 4 pm at Star Baptist Church in Star, MS . Funeral Services will be at 4 pm from the Sanctuary of Star Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Star Cemetery.
Roland was born in Brandon, MS. He lived in Rehobeth, MS until he was 14. His family moved to Star, MS in 1955 where he lived until his death. Roland was a farmer and worked as the Operator for Central Rankin Water Association and Star Water Association.
He was married to Jennie Lynn (Loflin) Walker of Star, MS for 55 years. They have two sons, Bryan, 54, of Columbus, MS and Jeff, 50 of Star, MS. He is preceded in death by his father, Charlie and his mother, Doris; his sister, Maxine; and brother, Asbury. Roland also leaves behind four grandchildren, Amber Tackett, 27, Taylor, 23, Kaleigh, 18, and Anderson, 11; his daughter-in-law, Christy of Star; and grandson-in-law, Conner of Star.
Roland loved his family and his Church family with all his heart. His loves were his family, his Church, golf, and most sports.
He will be truly missed but his legacy and his love for the Lord will live on.
