Charles Bryan “Charlie” Odom, 82, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS.
Charlie was born in Edinburg, MS to Elmo W. Odom and Jessie M. Strickland Odom on January 19, 1932. Charlie married Katherine F. Gross on February 7, 1958 in Opelika, AL. They were longtime residents of the Tri-County area and Meriwether County, GA. He worked for several local engineering firms before accepting early retirement in 1987. Then they moved to LaGrange, GA and he retired from the City of LaGrange Engineering Department in February 1998 and moved back to Brandon, MS to be close to family and friends.
Mr. Odom was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine F. Odom in 1998; daughter, Mary Cox; brother, James Odom; and granddaughter, Fay Ivey.
Survivors include his daughters, Darlene Bryan and son-in-law, Dwayne of Brandon, MS, Frances Harden of Dunnellon, FL and Lynette Mendoza and son-in-law, Roger of Riverview, FL; brother, Robert Odom and sister-in-law, Gail of Sunset, LA; sister, Doris Arabie and brother-in-law, Joe of St. Francisville, LA; 5 grandchildren, Kimberli Owen, Abriella Bryan, Mike Henderson, Lenny Politte and Kelly Lincoln; 7 great grandchildren, Katherine Stewart, Adam Henderson, Michael Bryan Henderson, Renee Giunta, Brandi Giunta, Michael Lincoln and Jessie Lincoln; 9 great-great grandchildren, David Allen Stewart, Haley Stewart, Bryan Henderson, Jr., Sierra Vance, Bentley Henderson, Lydia Fay Henderson, Evan Henderson, Wyatt Henderson and Addisyn Henderson.
