Charlotte Elaine Goodman-Shoemaker, 67 of Pelahatchie, MS passed away Monday, September 5, 2011 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00PM Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at the chapel of Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl. Visitation will be held tonight from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at Ott and Lee in Brandon.
She was born in Pelahatchie, MS on August 26, 1944 to Charles and Thelma Goodman. Elaine was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and daughter.
Elaine grew up in Pelahatchie, MS and had been a resident of Pelahatchie for the past 26 years. She was an avid gardener and spent the majority of her life as a hairdresser. She loved spending time with her family and friends, and especially adored her grandchildren.
Elaine is survived by her husband, John Douglas Shoemaker, her son, William Dwight Lewis of Omaha, Nebraska; daughters, Penny Lewis Carter and Wendi Lewis Caldwell, both of Pelahatchie; step-daughters, Mendi Shoemaker Riley of Madison, MS and Debra Shoemaker Diaz of Navarre Beach, Florida; her brothers, Mike Goodman and Paul Goodman of Pelahatchie, MS, Jerry Goodman of Brandon, MS; and sisters Janice Gailey of Morton, MS and Robin Herrington of Plano, TX. She had 13 nieces and nephews and 16 grandchildren.
