Charlotte Massey Thompson, 89, of Morton, MS (Barefoot Springs)  went home to be with the Lord September 4, 2017 at Brandon Court in Brandon, MS.  Visitation was held 9:00 AM Wednesday, September 6th, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home of Morton, with services at 11:00 AM in the chapel with Rev. Tal Vardaman officiating.  Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery of Pelahatchie.

Mrs. Thompson was born July 16, 1928 to Samuel O. and Hattie Mary Massey and was a lifelong resident of the Morton area.  She worked for General Electric of Jackson, until leaving public work to become a homemaker.  Her hobbies included gardening and flowers.  Friends and family described Charlotte as a humble person with a sweet spirit.  She loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She was an active member of Barefoot Springs Baptist Church in Pelahatchie until entering Brandon Court.

Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William (Buddy) Thompson, brother; John A. Massey, and sister Gloria Harvey.

Survivors include son James (Randy) Thompson of Pelahatchie, MS, daughter Gail Thompson Summerlin (LaVerne) of Magnolia, MS, three grandchildren; Renee Nester (Jake) of Lake, MS; Jay Thompson (Sarah) of Pelahatchie; and David Summerlin of Sumrall, MS; four great-grandchildren, Wes and Laken Nester of Lake, MS; and Jacob and Cross Thompson of Pelahatchie, MS; sister Lynn Lamb (Henry) of Tupelo, MS; and Dr. Samuel Massey (Jamie) of Madison, MS; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Mike Lamb, Carter Thompson, Ronnie Thompson, David Summerlin, Jay Thompson and Jake Nester.
