Choyce Rutherford

Choyce D. Rutherford, age 72, and a resident of Pelahatchie, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at his residence.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Leesburg Baptist Church with Bro. Joseph Oster and Bro. Jon Marc Vanlandingham officiating.

Private graveside services will be at Harrisville Baptist Cemetery in the presence of immediate family members.

Visitation will be on Tuesday from 9:30 am - 10:45 am prior to the funeral services at the church.

Mr. Rutherford had been a resident of this area for the last 22 years, moving from Holly Bush in Rankin County. He was a Baptist by faith and a member of Leesburg Baptist Church. Choyce loved to fish and hunt as well as spend time with his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his first wife: Dora I. Rutherford and his parents:Carlton Hal and Rina Lou Odom Rutherford.

Survivors include his wife Marita Davis Rutherford of Pelahatchie; five children: Terry Hal (Rhonda) Rutherford of Clinton; Lisa Gale (Ronnie) McIntyre of Glen Allen; Tina Lou (Michael) Chandler of Pelahatchie; Pamela J. (Michael) Macoy of Harrisville; and Jonathan P. (Jessie) Rutherford of Pelahatchie; eighteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters: Billie Merle Hobden of Meridian and Charlotte Rutherford of Austin, TX; and a host of other family and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ryan Merchant, Jordan Franklin, Red Hawkins, Jim Upton, Cody Parker, and Wesley Chandler.
